32 Weeks

How your baby's growing:

By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, she'll gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next 7 weeks as she fattens up for survival outside the womb. She now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Her skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.

It's official. I've been pregnant forever. Things are starting to get really uncomfortable now... I recently told a friend of mine that I'm at the point where when I try to sleep, I feel as if I've got a dinosaur egg under my shirt. But other than the hormone induced rapid mood swings, feeling like a turtle that's fallen on it's back when I lay down, and a constant, ravenous hunger - things are going along just fine!

I did have recent first though... Riley and I were watching Frosty The Snowman together and I actually cried when he melted. I had recorded it and we were watching it during the day when Ryan was at work and I'm so glad. I'm sure he would've thought that my sanity had completely left me.

We were talking last night about how this year has just flown by. I made the comment that in someways, it feels like we've blinked and Riley's already almost a year old, but in other ways, 2007 has felt long. I said that it probably felt that way for me because I've been pregnant for 18 of the last 21 months. I'm truly not complaining though. I'm very happy and can't wait to meet our baby girl. I would love to get another ultrasound just to see what in the world she's doing in there when it feels like she's training for an Olympic gold medal in tumbling. However, I don't think it's in the cards.

Well, it's almost 3 a.m., and I think she's calmed down enough for me to go back to sleep now.

You are not losing your sanity. I still cry when Frosty melts. Hope you have a nice weekend and I hope Katelyn calms down on her gymnastics.
