This will most likely be a short post and then I'll be off to bed. I can't believe that we're only 5 days away from being halfway there. La Bean is getting more and more active. I can't wait until Ryan will be able to feel her movements too. When I was pregnant with Riley, I always loved putting his hand on my enormous belly and watching his face as Riley squirmed underneath. Riley always reacted strongly to his voice. Even at the doctor's when we listened to his heartbeat, whenever Ryan spoke, Riley's pulse would quicken. I'm sure La Bean will be the same way.
We all had a very good weekend. We went to the Gaslight Festival on Saturday. Riley waved at just about everyone and I think he enjoyed all the sights and sounds. His Aunt Elece met us there and he hung out with her for a while. I like when Riley can spend time with people other than me. It's good for both of us. La Bean got to indulge in some Dippin' Dots ice cream. YUMMY! I'm so glad that stuff is not sold in grocery stores. That would be very dangerous. We also got Riley his UK outfit there for the big game. He looks so cute in it!
I suggested that we take Riley to his Memaw's and Grandad's for the game so we could go somewhere. But we talked about it and Ryan said he'd like to have Riley with us wherever we went. We had to show off his new outfit though and spent the first quarter at Memaw's. Riley was hilarious. He grabbed a stuffed football and started throwing it, chasing it, grabbing it, then throwing it again. He got tired a little earlier than we expected so we headed home and put him to bed.
Ryan and I stayed up and watched UK upset U of L. I was glad for them because, first, Ryan is a HUGE UK fan, and second, I usually like rooting for the underdog. It is a shame that the UK victory was at such a huge cost to U of L, though. Louisville is my favorite hometown, so I like to see them do well too. I hope the rest of their season goes well.
Once the game was over and we retired to bed, I started feeling not so hot. A few minutes later, I was in the bathroom and I'll spare you the details, but Ryan summed it up very well with the words "Exorcist, projectile vomit." I won't say anymore. Then Riley got up around 1 screaming and I couldn't do anything for him because I was still getting sick, so Ryan stayed up with him for at least an hour. Everyone finally got back to sleep - eventually.
But I was feeling much better this morning - still not 100%, but I'd say at least 70% and improving. We did a little shopping later and Ryan saw the cutest Halloween outfit for Riley. So, of course, we got it. When we got home, we had to try it on him and we both cracked up. He looked adorable! Hopefully it will still fit 6 weeks from now, or however far away it is. Maybe La Bean will be big enough so Ryan can paint my belly and dress her up too! We'll have to see. Only 3 weeks until the ultrasound!
