Fore!

The bean and I are awake early this morning. I'm sneezing again and came out to the living room so I wouldn't wake Ryan up. I can feel La Bean doing somersaults in her watery abode this morning. This is the most I've ever felt her and I know the somersaults will soon give way to jabs and kicks!

She played her first round of golf yesterday with Dad. One of the times Ryan and I had golfed when I was pregnant with Riley, we had "kept score" for him and that score card is now in his baby book. Since Riley camped out Thursday night, we woke up early Friday morning and headed out to Sleepy Hollow to play nine holes. I haven't held a club since last summer and we were working with limited time, so we just packed a few of my clubs in Ryan's bag so when the mood struck me I could take a whack at it.

Ryan said that he was going to play two balls each hole so I suggested that his second ball should be La Bean's. He agreed so now we have a score card for her baby book. Unfortunately she lost to Dad, but only because I tried to "help" her out on a few strokes. I did get a natural par for the first time in my life from start to finish, though! Sure it was a par 3 hole, but I was still pretty excited! It's time like those that give me a glimmer a hope, even though in the back of my mind, I know I'll never even achieve mediocrity in this sport!

Ryan is very patient with me and gives me pointers and tips and advice.... If I could only get my body to do what his does so seemingly effortlessly, I'd be in business. We had a ball though. He used to smoke quite a bit during his golf games, but he hasn't had a cigarette in almost two months. He quit the day after our ceremony in July. I'm very proud of him and am so very, very glad!

After our 9 holes, we did take Riley to the aquarium. He loved it! He didn't care too much for an alligator skull, but he loved the sharks and the fishes and all the water. He slept the whole way there and back and still went to bed around 8:30. It's a lot of excitement for a little fellow.

I've got about an hour or so before Riley wakes up, so I'm going to see if La Bean and I can go back to sleep. I've stopped sneezing, so that should help. I think we're going to go out to the boat today to see Memaw and Grandad, so I know a nap could also be in my not too distant future.
