Tickled Pink!!!

La Bean's first (somewhat) color picture!
She was shy at first, and hid her face with her hands.

But then she did move them and revealed the sweetest little face!

Ryan said he already sees my nose,
but I think she's already got his mouth and jaw...

Here's her profile with her hands up.

And one of her little hands...

And this is what she's been kicking me with...
Looks pretty big already!!
Her kung-fu kicks will get stronger and stronger!!

Legs just like Dad!
Look how long and skinny!!

One of the first pictures we saw of our little girl in the ultrasound room!

And she finally moved her hands away from her precious face!

It's a girl!!! I think the lab tech said 13 inches already and 1 pound 3 ounces.... I was only half paying attention to what she was saying, I was so in awe of the images flickering on the screen we were watching. The pictures of our little girl brought tears to my eyes. Ryan held my hand as we watched La Bean move and squirm on the monitor. Everything looks great and she's doing just fine!!

I got in a little trouble over my weight, although I'm still smaller now than I was with Riley, but other than that, I'm doing well too. Maybe a little tired and with a slight case of insomnia on some nights. But for the most part, doing great.

We kept our joy to ourselves upon the leaving the doctors office, though. There was a girl, probably my age, maybe younger, more pregnant than I who got on the elevator with us. Her eyes were swollen and we could see her shoulders shake as she leaned on her husband and silently cried going down to the first floor. Her husband held her reassuringly, that was the only thing he could really do. It obviously wasn't a good doctor's visit for her. I quickly said a prayer to myself and thanked God that I have one wonderfully healthy child with me and one wonderfully healthy child inside me. I don't ever want to take for granted how fortunate I am that I've never had to leave a baby appointment in tears. (Although my eyes are welling up now thinking of that woman. I hope whatever is wrong gets better, or if it can't get better, that she will have the strength she needs to deal with it.)

Ryan and I have looked at the pictures a dozen times at least. At lunch with Memaw and Grandad, we all discussed (okay - discussed and "placed our wagers on") what color her eyes will be, if she'll be a redhead, when she'll actually come... Needless to say, there will be some more polls on the blog to see what everyone else thinks!

We still haven't decided on a name yet. I thought I really liked one of the names we'd chosen "if it's a girl", but now have almost changed my mind. At the moment, I'm just overjoyed that our little one is doing well and as she should be. I wish Ryan could have stayed home with us this afternoon, but he's in a training class. It'd just be nice to take time and absorb this with him!

Riley was a trooper during the whole ordeal considering we were at the doctor's office for well over an hour and that he hadn't had a nap at all. He fell asleep on the way home and didn't even protest when I put him in his crib.

Now I think I'll shut my eyes for a while too. Thanks everyone for your well-wishes!

Congrats on the baby girl!
I didn't see any definitive proof in those pictures to say Lil Bean is a girl, but I will take your word for it.
