28 Weeks (Close enough...)
Our little miracle is growing and developing at an astonishing rate! Eyebrows and eyelashes are now present, and the hair on the head is growing. The eyelids open, and the eyes are completely formed. The body is getting plumper and rounder (weighs about 2 pounds) and is composed of around 2 to 3% body fat. Muscle tone is gradually improving. The lungs are capable of breathing air but if the baby is born now, she would struggle to properly breathe. Be sure to talk to her a lot because she can recognize your voice now!
Okay - so Saturday will be 28 weeks. We're close enough. I believe she can definitely hear things happening outside her world. There have been a couple times when I think that Riley has woken up his baby sister, but I have a feeling she'll have her revenge soon enough. Ryan is still saying it'll be sooner than we think. I don't know where he keeps getting this idea that she'll come early. I still say she's going to be late. (I think I will close the name poll soon and add an early/late/on time poll!)
Boy, yesterday was a long day. I took Riley over to his grandparents' house because we were having the carpet cleaned. Riley can't stand the vacuum much less a steam cleaner. So after I had him dropped off, I started getting the house in order for a showing we had at 2. The cleaners were supposed to be there at 11, but someone wrote our zip code down wrong so they ended up in a totally different part of town. They didn't show up until 12. After they left I noticed that one area of the carpet hadn't been cleaned good enough so I have to call them to get them to come back. I had to call my realtor to let the other realtor know that I was going to get them to come back out. Then it off to Memaw and Grandad's to get Riley. He is a one man wrecking crew, that's for sure! There were toys (and Puffs) everywhere!
I only stayed there for a little while because I had to go to my physician to get a flu shot. (An hour process that should have only taken 5 minutes. And my arm is bruised!) While at the doctor's office, Riley wanted to be free to roam and explore and let me (and everyone else) know that he was not happy with my mandate that he stay in my lap and off the floor. I assured him that he could roam and explore when we got home all he wanted. As soon as we got home, however, he didn't want to be put down and didn't hesitate to let me know that. Ever get that feeling that you can't do anything right?
When Ryan got home from work, we both practically attacked him we were so glad to see him. (I've got a cute video of what Riley does when Ryan gets home. He gets so excited, sometimes I think he doesn't know what to do. I'll have to put it on Riley's blog soon.) Bean was also in full swing so I was glad that Riley wanted to play with Dad for a while.
It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is here again. Maybe next year I'll be able to have a glass of wine with my meal! I told Ryan I'd make him a turkey and some other things. I know we'll go over to Memaw's and Grandad's for a while too. And we'll have football on all day! Hopefully my friend Heidi will have some yummy good Thanksgiving recipes on her Tasty Sensation blog.
