Doctor's Update

26 weeks and all is well. We had a doctor's appointment today and I heard her heartbeat. It was very distinct and strong. The doctor was poking on her a little bit to establish her position and she kicked back. I've got to go sometime in the next five days to do the gestational diabetes test. My next appointment is December 4, then I'll go every two weeks, then after week 36 it'll be every week.

Ryan actually said a date today. He thinks January 24 for some reason. I still say February 14 and the doctor still says February 9. Hmm... I think we have our next poll!

I'm still very tired from our roadtrip over the past weekend. We left Thursday to go to Mississippi. We drove the first night about 4 hours or so then about 5 the next day. Riley did much better than either one of us expected. We made it to Mississippi in the early afternoon on Friday. We checked into our Bed and Breakfast, The Dunn House. It is an absolutely beautiful house - built in 1890. I've never seen so much ornate woodwork in one house. And David, the owner, was fantastic. He was so hospitable and definitely was a highlight of our stay.

We had such a full weekend. As soon as we checked into the the B&B and got cleaned up, we were off again so Ryan could play 9 holes. Riley and I went with him and had a blast. The weather was perfect and Riley loved the golf cart. It really was a beautiful day. When we got back to the B&B, everyone else was there too and Riley loved playing with Cousin James.

The next day, we met two of my aunts, my cousins, their kids, and my grandmother at the zoo. We took a ton of pictures and then went to my grandmother's for a party for the Bean. She really racked up! She got a ton of cute clothes and accessories! Everyone really went above and beyond. It was a very nice surprise! Now the only things we really need are things for her room. And a crib!

It was such a good trip, but emotional at times for me. Of course, these days, listening to the radio or watching a movie can be very emotional. I'm still very drained and although it's only a little after 8, I'll be headed for bed very soon.
