We found out today that I am dilated about two and a half centimeters. I asked if that was an indication of an early delivery and he said not necessarily. He said I could walk around for a couple weeks like this with nothing happening. But on the other hand, he said if I were to come in next week and be four centimeters dilated and having contractions, they would go ahead and plan a delivery and not try to stop it. And Ryan brought up a good point that once you pass five or so centimeters, there's no more option for an epidural. I was NOT built for natural child birth. I need drugs. So, that's something else to add to the worry cart!
I asked about her size and he said that she was measuring where she should be. He wanted to know if I was concerned about that and I told him I was and that I just had a feeling she was going to be a big baby. He suggested to go ahead and get another ultrasound just to check a few things out. So, next Wednesday, we'll get to see our little girl - even if it is just in black and white. I'm sure they'll give us some pictures so I'll make sure to scan them and post them!
My doc also said that he was reconsidering his knee surgery and might be there for delivery after all. He said he would know for sure when I see him after the ultrasound next week. If he's not going to be there, then he'll assign someone else for me. But Ryan and I both got the feeling that he's not going to have it. But, like everything else, we'll wait and see!

mammaw is saying her prayers. as much as i want you to be here, i want you to stay put till mammaw gets there. i want your birthstone to be amethyst--not garnet. already have plans for jewelry! love all of you so much and please hang in there!
