Well, for those of you who voted that our "little" girl would be less than 8 pounds, I thank you, but it looks like you were wrong. We had the ultrasound today and from what the doctor said, she's already at around eight and a half plus. This is the only picture we were able to get. Today was strictly for measurements and this far along, you can't really get a good look at much. But we did notice that she appears to be very smushed. Looks like I some of the baby clothes I washed won't fit. They're for five to eight pounds! We also found out that I'm not dilated any more than I was last week. My doc is not going to have his knee surgery (yay!) so I'll see him next week and we'll do another cervix check. If all is favorable, we may have a baby by the end of next week. I had told Ryan at one point that I thought we'd be watching the Superbowl in the hospital - or at least with Katelyn -but we'll see.
Doc said it was too early to do anything right now, but reiterated that if I go into labor, they won't do anything to stop me and we'll be on our way. I told him I was ready to be done. I mean, between baby girl and the placenta and all that other good stuff, I'm essentially walking around with a 10 pound bowling ball on my bladder - and let me tell you, it's not easy! There have been a couple of times when I've headed towards the bathroom twice in ten minutes. Ryan gave up asking, "AGAIN?!" about a month a half ago!
But, seriously we do want her to be done cooking and not need any additional care once she gets here. Doc said if all looked good, he'd be okay with us helping things along. so we've got another week ahead of us. Maybe...! As I walked out of the doctor's office, I told him I'd see him next Wednesday and he said, and I quote, "If not sooner! You never know!" Ain't that the truth!?
Aunt Janet came over today to keep Riley company while I went to the doctor. And - again - didn't miss me. I walked in and he smiled and pointed at me then went right back to playing. Riley blew her kisses when she left and even reached out for her while he was with me! I really don't know how to thank you enough, Janet, for all you've done and do!
And thanks to Elece and Steph and Aunt Be for checking on me often too! You all don't know how much it means to me to have so much support! I know I can call on you day or night and you'll be there for me - and most importantly - my little guy! Thank you thank you thank you so much! Next month, the martinis are on me!!!
Well, time to chug some caster oil and hop on the treadmill! AHAHAHAHAHAHAH!! Oh I crack myself up!! Actually, it's time to hit the sheets and see what dreams may come tonight!
