How your baby's growing:
At 4 1/2 inches long (head to bottom) and 3 1/2 ounces, your baby is about the size of an avocado. In the next three weeks, she'll go through a tremendous growth spurt, though, doubling her weight and adding inches to her length. Her lower limbs are much more developed now. Her head is more erect than it has been, and her eyes have moved toward the front of her head. Your baby's ears are close to their final position, too. Her heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, circulating her total blood volume through her body many times. (By the end of your pregnancy, this will increase to about 190 quarts.) Although closed, her eyes are moving (slowly), and she's even started growing toenails.Okay - so tomorrow will be 16 weeks. I can't believe she's already as big as she is! And according to that tidbit from Baby Center, the next 3 weeks are going be a big time for her! Our 16 week appointment is the day after Ryan's birthday. What a good birthday present for him to hear his little Bean's heartbeat! We're going to see if we'll be able to get another ultrasound paid for by insurance. Ryan said if we couldn't, maybe we could get a 3D/4D image somewhere else. We looked online and found a couple places we could go. It's not as pricey as I thought, but not inexpensive either. I do think it would be amazing to see images like that of La Bean. I think I remember seeing a picture like that of Gus when Steph was pregnant. *Note to self - call and ask...
It's an early morning for me. I woke up a little before 5 unable to go back to sleep and sneezing, so here I am on the couch waiting until it's time to wake everyone up. Hopefully I'll be able to take a nap when Riley does to compensate for my early rising.
Riley went over to his Memaw's and Grandad's yesterday afternoon. Ryan and I had some houses to look at and I hate getting Riley out when it's 829 degrees. I know he loves going over there and it was nice being able to take a long shower for a change, but it still amazes me how much I miss him when he's not with me! He's so cute! I'll have to update his blog with new pics from the grandparents house later today. They got his pool out so he was able to beat the heat that way for a while. He loves the water! I was thinking about taking him swimming at our pool later today. I just saw the forecast though and the temperature is supposed to reach 104! Yikes!! We've got another house to look at this evening, so maybe he can just spend some time in his pool again!
We were going to try to go to the fair, but I think it's going to be too damn hot for Riley and La Bean. I'm getting bigger (again) and the heat just feels absolutely suffocating. I'll be glad when it cools off. I haven't been able to get Riley outside for walks lately and my knees are suffering. Hopefully when we find a bigger place I can get one of the bikes like gyms have in spin classes. I love those bikes. I could get on one of those for an hour and half and not blink. On the treadmill, I'm cursing and staring at the timer after five minutes.
I feel like I've been in a tired ramble this whole blog entry so I'm going to lie back down and try to snooze for a few minutes before the alarm goes off. On a bright note - this is the last alarm until after Labor Day since Ryan will be on vacation. YAY!!
