Doctor's Visit

La Bean and I had a doc's visit today and all is well. The nurse practitioner, Heather, is an absolute sweetheart. I heard the heartbeat - very strong!! I also heard - and felt - a few movements from La Bean. She's a very active young lady! Heather measured my belly and I measured right on target. It's always a relief to hear that everything is going well.

I wasn't quite sure I wanted to hear, but I did ask how my weight this time compares to my weight at this point last time. They had a recorded weight for me at 12 weeks 4 days with Riley and I was just 4 pounds lighter than I am now. But, seeing as how this time, I started out about 12 or so pounds heavier than I was when I got pregnant with Riley, I don't guess I'm doing all that bad. But I know I still need to watch it.

It's been so hot lately, Riley and I haven't been able to go for our walks. I know as soon as it cools down a little - or as soon as it isn't a three digit heat index by 11:00 a.m. we'll be right back outside. I hate keeping him cooped up in the condo, but right now, it's best for both of us. We can't even go swimming until he completely gets over this virus. It sure is hard to be just a little fellow.

But anyway, I go back to see the doc in just 3 weeks this time. They want to get me back on the 16, 20, 24, etc. week schedule. This time, though, Ryan will be able to go with me since he'll be on vacation. I'm not sure exactly what we'll be doing, but I'm looking forward to being able to spend more time with him.

I'm so glad that everything is going well. Looking forward to the next visit so Ryan can hear his little bean's heartbeat!

Sounds like the bean is progressing well. Can't wait until February to see the new addition.
