103 days so far. Time is passing pretty quickly. I can't believe we're over halfway through 2007!! Ryan and I are still house hunting and taking our time about it. We still haven't figured out where we want to be.
Riley is cracking me up with some of the things he's doing lately. He's learned how to wave and now waves at everything - constantly. He's also mastered not only turning off the light switch in his room, but turning it on as well. There have been several times when I've gone to get him out of his crib only to find that he's beaten me to the light switch. We've got to lower his crib soon, but I know it's going to make him mad when he can't reach the switches or his mobile anymore.
I think if Riley's crib were the size of a California king bed, he'd use every square inch of it. Every time I check on him, he's in a different position in a different part of the crib. His newest sleeping position is on his belly, knees tucked under and butt way up in the air. Whenever he's like this, I have to run get Ryan and we both look at our boy and silently giggle while we watch him sleep.
La Bean and I are doing great. I think I'm still a little tired and I seem to be a little more quiet than I usually am. I'm not quite as good at holding conversations for some reason. But I blame it on fatigue. Our next doctor's appointment is the week Ryan is on vacation and I'm so glad he'll be able to go. I think of every single appointment I had with Riley, he only missed one or two. His new position is a little harder to get away from.
I had a conversation with a good friend of mine yesterday and she asked if she'd missed something about La Bean. She was confused because I always refer to La Bean with a feminine pronoun. No, we don't know for sure. But the second I told Ryan to get ready for number 2, he's insisted that Riley is going to have a sister. And to his credit, this pregnancy is a little different than the last.
We won't know for sure though until about week 20 IF we get another ultrasound. I had asked the doc when the next one was going to be and he said he'd have to check with my insurance since I've already had two. He said we could always have another if we wanted, but that insurance may not cover any more so we would have to pay. If that's the case, we'll just be surprised like everyone else. But in the meantime, La Bean will stay LA Bean.
The pregnancy dreams are getting more and more crazy. The other night I had a dream that Ryan and I were jewel thieves working with Morgan Freeman. Maybe we were supposed to be making a movie or something, I'm not sure. Then I had a dream that Ryan and I had 5 kids and lived on a farm where we raised llamas. I don't even think I've seen a llama up close or if the creatures in my dreams remotely resemble what a llama truly looks like. Very strange.
I have been toying with the idea of going back to school - online of course. I definitely want to get my degree before Riley and La Bean and whoever else may come along can start arguing with me about grades and homework. I think I will have to wait until La Bean gets to be at least 6 months or so. But I desperately want to finish school. I'd love to be able to reenter the workforce degree in hand when the kids are in school. I'd love to be able to do something with photography or marketing. Always two areas of passion of mine. I'm just going to have to be patient and let a few things play out. I'd love to find something to do from home on my own time just to keep my brain from turning to mush, but while telecommuting scams are very easy to come by, legitimate telecommuting jobs are pretty rare.
The key to all I suppose is just patience but knowing when to strike. And with 177 days (take or give a few) to go until La Bean is done, patience is something that has to be with me at all times!
